Williams Family Home - Newark, NJ, Friday Night
The funeral for Matty had, of course, been closed casket. And it had been full of cops (all former coworker's of Danny's) and firefighters (all former coworker's of his father) so it was easy to not have to address anything emotionally at the time.
Though Grace being there with him had caused more than a few cracks to come through as he just tried to get through this period.
Which was possibly why he was laying in one of bedrooms in the home that he and his siblings had grown up in, staring at the ceiling, trying to will himself to sleep. Even though he knew he'd have nightmares there.

And Steve was an all too tempting distraction. Especially now that he knew what it was like.
He let out a long sigh, rubbing his cheek against the soft fabric of the t-shirt Steve was wearing. That was probably one of Danny's.

Steve's hand drifted down to cup Danny's cheek for just a heartbeat before going back to rubbing Danny's back.
And if his hand had moved Danny's shirt slightly out of the way, well. These things happen.

Danny kissed him back, so eager to just be able to focus on this feeling for the night.

"I need," Danny murmured, unsure how he would finish that before the first word was even out of his mouth.

Just for the night.

He nodded and kissed Danny again, slow and soft in deference to the old, squeaky bed. And because he felt that Danny needed something slow and soft.

For now, though, he was continuing that thorough kissing, stopping after a bit to tug Danny's shirt off--and then the shirt he was wearing that was also, technically, Danny's shirt.
no subject
So, yes. Quiet it was.
Maybe the kissing would keep it quiet now that they had those shirts off and could continue it uninterrupted. Or maybe that was just Danny wanting to keep kissing him.

...his childhood twin bed. Okay, so Steve was going to up his game slightly and try to keep Danny's attention on the physical feelings and maybe not exactly where they were.

But Steve was doing an amazing job at getting Danny's brain to shut off in order to only focus on what was going in the moment. He returned the favor in running his hands over Steve's chest and then up to cup his jaw.

He stretched out a little to get more contact with Steve, taking in a deep breath as he did so.

He was waiting to see if Danny froze up at all--he might be making the decisions here but he needed to see how much distraction Danny really wanted.
no subject
Didn't stop him, however.

"Close your eyes," he said quietly.
That way Danny could, you know, think of whatever he needed to right now.
no subject
Really now.
Danny gripped him tighter at that like he needed Steve as close as possible right now. He needed more, but the logistics caused his brain to shy away from that.
no subject
Oh God, this was happening more than one time. Steve would deal with that...not now. Maybe not ever.
He slid his thumb over the tip, wondered if Danny would be grossed out if he licked his hand to get some kind of moisture going here, and gave Danny a quick squeeze.

And, well, Danny groaned into Steve's hand, unable to keep from shifting his hips at that sort of thing. So live dangerously, Steven.
