Streets of Baltimore, Thursday
So, the trick to getting off the island, Danny was starting to feel, was to not try an escape. Because he went with the purpose of finding a shrink to talk to if he was going to be stuck here. And lo and behold, he was perfectly capable of getting to Baltimore.
Of course he was.
But his luck was still his luck. And it was probably amplified by the fact that Steve was around him once again. So, before he could even get inside the building, there was a body that landed right on a car parked off the street. Complete with car alarms going off and glass going everywhere.
Which was really gonna make hiring this therapist difficult, so he mentally crossed them off his list as he peered into the ruin of the car to check for a pulse and called the locals.
Danny Williams could not have nice things, no.

Or course it had started as part of being allowed back on the job, but whatever. It helped.
He wasn't about to ignore the evidence of the laptop, so of course he went over to see what could be pulled from it.

"I actually haven't been able to speak to mine in some time," he sighed, peering over Danny's shoulder. "Which has been frustrating. I could've used Dr. Linda's insights these past few months."

"You could always look for a new one," Danny murmured, mouth drawn down into a frown of concentration as he very slowly managed to boot it up. This was really more of Chin's forte, but he could manage for the most part. "Wait a minute, I remember that name."
He pointed at a very Slavic name on the screen.
"He's Bratva."

Sigh. He still really needed to study up on all of his Baltimore crime syndicates.

"C'mon. You two are going into custody," he said, closing the laptop to take with them. And then maybe he could convince Lucifer to just go home because clearly Baltimore PD could handle this, right? Right?

NOT A CHANCE.

Twenty minutes later, he was counting bills in a dive bar underneath a neon sign of an anchor with a half-naked lady on it that read Heave Ho!.
Duke would have loved it. "...And that's ten thousand," he said, handing it over to the nice tattooed criminal. "Now. You were saying?"

"I hate you," Danny informed him. You know. Conversationally.

"I'm already doing that," the man promised, barely glancing at Danny. "Yeah, so, last thing I heard? They were setting up shop in some warehouse downtown. I can get you the address."
"Lovely," Lucifer said, grinning.

"I'm never coming to this damn city without my vest again."

The man shrugged. "As far as I know, I'm pointing a new client at them. If you stab 'em in the back, they failed at basic security."
He also now had a lot of money and could get out of town if he wanted to.

The guy pushed a note across the table. "Have fun."
Oh, Lucifer assumed these people would have a lot of guns.

"I'm calling Baltimore PD for back-up," Danny informed him. "Because I very much would like to remain alive."

And with that, he walked towards the exit.

That was some epic telepathy there, Danny.
